No. There is no fee to post a profile on eTherapyfinder.com. Your profile will remain visible to the public, at no cost, as long as eTherapyFinder,Inc. confirms your license and insurance information is current and in good standing according to your state licensing board.
How do I get paid for services rendered on eTherapyFinder.com?
From your Virtual Office, simply click the “Bill Client” button to create a statement and automatically charge your client at end of each session. eTherapyFinder remits payments on a weekly basis for all sessions in the previous week.
Can I directly bill a patient’s insurance company for services rendered on eTherapyFinder.com?
Although we do not provide direct online claims submission, our platform does allow you to fill out a billing form that you can either send to your client for them to submit a claim to their own insurance company, submit to your current billing service, or submit to the insurance company as you would any face-to-face encounter.
Does insurance cover services for behavioral health?
Coverage and reimbursement policies for behavioral health will vary by insurance company and according to the specific group or individual coverage plans. Consider contacting your client’s insurance company to verify coverage and reimbursement for behavioral health services before rendering services to a new client.
If I am a participating provider with my client’s insurance company and they are not subject to a co-payment or upfront billing, how do I bill for sessions via eTherapyFinder.com?
Although eTherapyFinder.com is geared to facilitate self-pay or point-of-service options, we recognize that many behavioral health providers may be preferred providers for specific insurance plans with contractual obligations to deliver therapy at no upfront cost to the client. If you are a behavioral health provider with clients who you cannot charge upfront, please contact us at enterprise@eTherapyFinder.com to obtain an alternate pricing plan to provide services to these clients on a cost per transaction basis.
Why must I provide my EIN or Social Security Number when registering on eTherapyFinder.com?
Services provided by a behavioral health provider are provided under that provider’s business and professional license. Due to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, U.S. third-party settlement organizations and payment processors, including eTherapyFinder, Inc., are required to file Form 1099 misc or 1099-K for U.S. taxpayer sellers. If you, as a behavioral health provider (“Seller”) of the service receive more than $600 in payments, eTherapyFinder will file a Form 1099-misc with the IRS. If you receive more than $20,000 in payments, and the aggregate number of such transactions done through eTherapyFinder,Inc. exceeds 200, eTherapyFinder, Inc. will file a Form 1099-K with the IRS. eTherapyFinder, Inc. will also send a 1099-misc or 1099-K, as applicable, to you as the behavioral health provider.
What is a chargeback? What are the fees associated with a chargeback?
A chargeback (also known as a reversal) is assessed by credit card companies when a cardholder disputes a specific charge. Once the cardholder files a dispute, the issuing bank makes an investigation into the complaint and will assess charges as a result of this process. A chargeback fee is incurred by the merchant regardless of whether the disputed charge is deemed valid. This fees vary according to issuing bank. Due to the need to intercede on a chargeback, eTherapyFinder, Inc. will charge $15 per chargeback plus all applicable bank fees as a result of the chargeback.

Once your license and insurance information is submitted and confirmed by our system, your profile will be publicly visible to anyone searching for a behavioral health providers on eTherapyFinder.com
What is the Virtual Office?
The Virtual Office is a suite of online tools, designed to help behavioral health providers manage their practice. From HIPAA compliant, secure client messaging platform to calendaring and billing, it is a complete practice management system on your desktop.
Can I add my existing clients onto my virtual office?
Yes. You can send them a direct invitation to join you on eTherapyfinder.com through your Virtual Office. This feature will send them an email inviting them to join you, and a successful registration on their part will automatically connect you with that Client’s account.
How can I connect with new patients?
Prospective clients will first search for a behavioral health provider on eTherapyFinder.com. After selecting your profile, a prospective client will be able to send a secure, private message or appointment request to your Virtual Office. From there, you will have the option to reply, add, or block the client from your practice list. This gives you the ability to evaluate whether the client is a good fit for your practice, and allows you to control the initial communication flow between you.
Do I need to pay a referral fee for connecting with new clients on eTherapyFinder.com?
No. The goal of eTherapyFinder.com is to make therapy widely accessible to clients in need of behavioral health services. eTherapyFinder, Inc. does not charge a referral fee for any new clients that connect with you on the eTherapyFinder.com web site.
Can I treat clients outside of my geographic practice area?
You may treat clients in any location of any state where you hold a valid license to practice. During the registration process, simply include information on all valid professional licenses in each state where you are licensed to practice. If you gain an additional state license after registration, you can add this license information into your profile from your Virtual Office.
How do I know that my information and communication is secure on eTherapyFinder.com?

How will I know when I have a new message on eTherapyFinder.com?
eTherapyFinder, Inc. will send a general message to your external email account informing you that you have a new message on eTherapyFinder.com. You will be able to customize the frequency that you will receive these general messages.
How is video conferencing through eTherapyFinder.com different from Skype, WebEx or other platforms?
Our video and messaging system occurs on dedicated infrastructure and abides by all guidelines outlined by the HIPAA Omnibus. We also provide a business associate agreement ("BAA") for behavioral health providers' own use which outlines our obligations under HIPAA.
How does eTherapyFinder.com confirm a provider’s professional license and professional liability policy? Why is this required?
Only licensed mental health professionals in good standing with the state licensing board can post a profile on eTherapyFinder.com. eTherapyFinder, Inc. will confirm directly with the respective state licensing board to ensure all provider licenses are active and in good standing. If there is a question about a provider’s license, eTherapyFinder.com will contact the provider to facilitate prompt resolution. Only after the provider’s license and insurance is confirmed will the provider’s profile be visible to the public. This process is intended to ensure that only insured, licensed professionals in good standing can treat clients on eTherapyFinder.com.
How long does it take for eTherapyFinder.com to confirm a behavioral health provider’s state license and professional liability policy?
Confirmation can differ among the different state licensing agencies, but generally it can take be up to two (2) business days for a behavioral health provider's license to be verified and profile posted publically on eTherapyFinder.com
Why must I upload the declaration page of my professional liability policy?
eTherapyfinder, Inc. confirms that all providers who have profiles listed on our website have current and active professional liability insurance. The declaration page of their current policy allows eTherapyFinder.com to confirm that the behavioral health provider is actively and adequately insured. All providers are required to notify eTherapyFinder, Inc. of any changes or modifications to their license status and insurance coverage.
Can anyone create a Group on eTherapyFinder.com?
Only a licensed mental health providers can create an eTherapyfinder.com Group. Other organizations with an interest in mental health must petition eTherapyfinder, Inc. first to be considered for creating a Group. Approving such an organization will be entirely up to eTherapyfinder, Inc.
Do clients have access to information shared in a Groups forum?
No. Clients who are receiving treatment from a behavioral health provider within eTherapyfinder, Inc.’s platform are prohibited from becoming a Group member.
