eTherapyfinder.com is not a health plan, health care clearinghouse or a healthcare provider. However, it does have access to certain encrypted information that falls within the definition of Protected Healthcare Information. As a result, eTherapyfinder.com and its employees have executed a Business Associate Agreement on behalf of its Approved Therapist. The Business Associate Agreement assures that eTherapyfinder.com and its employees understand their contractual obligation to protect and comply with the privacy requirements promulgated under HIPAA.
When you submit information via our website, your information is protected both online and off- line. When we ask you to provide information (such as name, address, phone number, e-mail address and credit card number), such information is encrypted and is protected with SSL encryption. While we use SSL encryption to protect information you provide to us online, we also do everything in our power to protect such information off-line. All of your information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted on our server. Only eTherapyfinder.com administrators or employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to users' personal information. Our employees can only access this information via a password- protected login. Each time they return, they must re-enter their password to regain access to user information. All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Any time new policies are added, our employees are notified about what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected. When you visit our site and send an email to an Approved Therapist through the eTherapyfinder.com messaging center, your Name, Phone (if provided), Email and Message are recorded and stored by eTherapyfinder.com, primarily for use by our Approved Therapist.
HOWEVER, THIS INFORMATION IS CONSIDERED AND IS TREATED AS BEING STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. eTherapyfinder.com understands the importance of keeping this information confidential and never rents, sells or gives this information to any third party. While the Approved Therapist to whom you sent your email has access to this information, none of eTherapyfinder.com’s employees have access, except trained eTherapyfinder.com support team members; but only for the limited purpose of moderating for spam or other content that is in violation of eTherapyfinder.com’s terms of service.
eTherapyfinder.com collects information entered by site visitors when they register (or try to register) for a public webinar or other similar activity. This information (including but not limited to name, username, email address, password, billing information, etc.) is kept private and confidential in our database and will only be accessed by our internal support departments if needed (such as debugging errors or analyzing outcome of marketing campaigns). However, eTherapyfinder.com never rents, sells or gives this information to any third party.
eTherapyfinder.com may use various forms of Web Analytic services and/or software to collect information about your browsing experience on our site and/or to prevent click fraud. This includes cookies to identify areas within our website that you have visited. This is done to better personalize the content that you see on our website. eTherapyfinder.com uses log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser types, internet service providers (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform types, date/time stamps, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. However, IP addresses, ISP’s, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information contained in user profiles.
eTherapyfinder.com collects information entered by our Approved Therapists when they register (or try to register) for membership or public membership. The information about the Approved Therapist's practice is made public and can be viewed in any Approved Therapist profile. The other information (including but not limited to username, email address, password, Billing Information such as transaction ID’s when you pay your bill through a payment gateway, payment information to disburse payments made to you, etc.) is kept private in a database and may be used by our internal departments if needed (such as debugging errors or analyzing outcome of marketing campaigns). However, eTherapyfinder.com never rents, sells this information to any third party. Information is generated in the process of treatment, including but not limited to video and audio, as well as text messaging throughout the course of your session in our system. Any of this information is processed in memory through our application, but is not stored or cached by our system. This information is transmitted between client and therapist by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and is not retained by eTherapyfinder.com.
Scheduling information and history, Invoice history, as well as non-session messaging is retained and stored in eTherapyfinder.com’s database and remains accessible to both client and therapist for a specified period of time.
We may provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities such as an email service provider to send emails on our behalf or payment processing. Examples of such services include transactional e-mails, system generated e-mails in account registration and confirmation, or in the creation of system generated support tickets. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us. Other parties may encounter information contained in our system in the process of performing services detailed in Business Associate Agreements (BAA) care is taken to keep this access to a minimum, and only as and when needed in the performance of job duties.
eTherapyfinder.com places significant importance and takes great caution at protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the information it acquires from site visitors and Approved Therapists. However, there are circumstances that eTherapyfinder.com cannot control which may mandate disclosure of your personal information. All Other Uses and Disclosures of Your Health Information Require Written Authorization: Your written authorization is required for other uses and disclosures of your Health Information that are not described in this Notice. However, you should not authorize the use or disclosure without first having discussed it with your Approved Therapist and communicate such authorization through your Approved Therapist. Your Approved Therapist must be involved in and jointly authorize such disclosure. Having your Approved Therapist as part of the authorization process is intended to be in your best interest and protection.
You may revoke an authorization to use or disclose your Health Information at any time. Your revocation must be in writing and it will not affect uses or disclosures of your Health Information made in reliance on your authorization before its revocation.
If you are a Provider, receiving emails from our site is part of our service. If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you may opt out of them by canceling your account. When you sign up for a eTherapyfinder.com account we will use your name and email address to send you newsletters. If you no longer wish to receive these emails you may follow the unsubscribe instructions contained in the email you receive or by emailing us at the following e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are a Client, we will only send you emails on behalf of your treatment provider, or when contacted by you directly.
The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as messaging information between yourself and your clinician, a credit card number and login credentials), we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. The Health Information they collect and use or may be required to disclose is broader and more significant than what eTherapyFinder.com collects, uses or may be required to disclose via its website.
